The water bottle filling station located in the high school provides a convenient way for users to refill their water bottles, encouraging them not to use plastic water bottles. These fountains provide extra filtration in addition to convenience. The filters are designed to remove particulates, chlorine, taste and odor, and lead from the water. Each station also includes a display to count the number of bottles which have been saved.

In addition, the reduced use of plastic water bottles decreases human contact with the dangerous chemical BPA. BPA is found in polycarbonate which is used in the manufacture of single-use plastic bottles.
